‘Sleep’- Semester special

With a book in hand,

Sized alike a high-pillow,

My mind sways,

As my thoughts swirl.

I stare at the wall,

Right ahead,

Not a bit left or right,

Exactly at a same spot.

Sleepy I am,

Droopy are my eyes.

The words in print,

Stare at me – blank,

As I stare back,

They start a dance.

Be it a pleasant weather,

Or a damp one,

My mind is determined,

Not to take a single syllable in.

Sleepy I am,

Droopy are my eyes.

Pity me,

Waiting for a miracle,

That will none-the-less occur,

Just the night before SEMESTERS !

Begging myself to wake up,

Still, with drooping eyes..
