Had you seen the movie ‘The fault in our stars’, reading the novel ‘An imperial affliction’ over and over would be described as a sign of depression. But over the past week I’ve been seeing this movie over and over till all my tears dry out and I get tired of pouring my heart out. And this was when I decided that I was depressed.
There is a fatal flaw with me or maybe with many people, when I am happy and elated with joy, I hardly notice the things that happen around me. This is probably because I don’t stand on earth but fly off with my dreams!
Since I was down on earth for the whole week, I decided to pen down my ‘off-the-track’ poem,
Sitting in the couch,
Staring at the T.V set,
Tears traced their path down my cheeks.
I cried once,
And that was a relief,
To kick off my strong shield.
I cried again,
But this time for myself,
How miserable my life has turned out to be!
Over time, the sad movie was only an excuse,
A mask to shelter from the outer world,
A shade I build for myself !
Every time I try to stand up,
I come crashing down harder,
But Dear Depression, I’m going to stand up anyway!

If you liked that film, you should also watch ‘Me Earl and the dying Girl.’ So good.
Next on the list!..thank you π
Let me know what you think when you get to watch it. π
Sure π
Firstly, thanks for suggesting the movie! And secondly, WOW! It was so touchy and I barely could watch the end without tears..i even loved the parts with Earl and the movie..Thanks again π
I’m really happy you enjoyed it. It’s for sure an instant classic. I bawled like a baby in the end, completely bittersweet. I’d suggest Donnie Darko next (favorite film), but I don’t know if you’d like it since it’s such a hit or miss film.
I’d for sure watch and let you know π And by the way, such a great blog you have..enjoyed it π
Thank you so much, looking forward to read what you think π
Powerful words! I love this.
